Common Furniture Beetle Life cycle.
The Common Furniture Beetle life cycle consists of four stages: egg, larvae, pupae, and adult. The eggs are tiny, white, and oval-shaped, and are laid in cracks and crevices in wood. The larvae are creamy white in colour, up to 5mm long, with a brown head and three pairs of legs. As they feed, they create galleries in the wood, resulting in damage to furniture, structural timber, and other wooden items. The pupae are also creamy white in colour, and are found inside the galleries they have created. The adult beetles are 2.7 to 4.5mm long, and have a reddish-brown colour with a mottled pattern.

ServLabs provides comprehensive Powder Post Beetle treatments to help protect your property from further damage. Our treatment options include water-based and fogging treatments as well as fumigation for the most severe cases. Fogging treatments are more suitable for larger infestations, and involve the use of a fine mist that is sprayed onto the affected areas. Finally, for the most severe cases, ServLabs provides fumigation services. This is a specialist fumigation treatment that uses the active ingredient Sulfuryl Fluoride to eradicate the woodworm.
